Littlefield Forms Block Club

The Pickens sisters and members of the community come together to form a block club called “Littlefield Community Association”.

Funding Littlefield Playfield

LFCA and community members create initial site plan design for the redevelopment of Littlefield Park (11.1 acres), which was approved by the Detroit Recreation Department. Total project cost is $2.2 million. LFCA has obtained $570,000 thus far.

Appreciation Picnic

LFCA, in partnership with Noble Elementary-Middle School, holds appreciation picnic for Detroit Police, Detroit Fire Fighters, DPS Safety Officers, and Wayne County Sheriffs.

Noble’s Safe Routes 2 School

On behalf of Noble Elementary-Middle School, LFCA applied for and was awarded Safe Routes 2 School funding from the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), in the amount of $483,810. The only school in the City of Detroit to receive this prestigious award.

Littlefield Playfield Receives New Official Site Plan

In collaboration with the City of Detroit and local contractors, Littlefield creates new official site plan for Littlefield Playfield.

Hello, New Village Detroit!

Littlefield becomes co-founder of New Village Detroit, a coalition of block clubs and neighborhood associations in Northwest Detroit. Our mission is to grow a movement of leaders working to build thriving and sustainable communities for generations to come.

LFCA Becomes a Non-Profit

Littlefield becomes an official 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and solidifies itself as a center of influence in Littlefield Community and the western region of Detroit.

LFCA, Happy Homes Community Association, and the National Basketball Retired Players Association Detroit Chapter host a basketball camp for youths in the Littlefield Community area, sponsored by Meijer.

Hosted the free First Annual 3-ON-3 in the “D” Youth Basketball Clinic & Tournament with Happy Homes Community Association and the National Basketball Retired Players Association Detroit Chapter.
